Roller Coster Ride

What a week it has been.. Lot of things happening and I am running around places not knowing where to go and what to do. In the PDE class the prof. has zoomed past two chapters and I have no clue about it. The French class is proving to be esoteric to an extent where I was once the first bencher, but now giving all sort of excuses for not doing my homework and ofcourse sitting in the last row.

While this is the situation in the academics part, tansa has been doing wonders in the inter-hostel sports GC. Myself being the sports secretary, I have to conduct intra-hostel competitions, select the team and then be with the team while they play. This has bore fruits. We won our first match of the water-polo tournament. We won two matches in the Chess GC. Leaders in the Institute Debating League competition, as of now. And now we are into the finals of TT tournament. Tansa, being a researchers' hostel, is generally considered to be more oriented towards research rather than extra-curricular activities. And it came as a surprise for all of them that Tansa is doing so well in all these events. I take the pride in writing notices everyday: "Tansa has defeated H-7 in Chess", "Tansa beats H-3 in TT", "Tansa screws H-12 in waterpolo" and what not... People are getting more active and showing enthusiasm to play. Already I have received enough entries for the upcoming Volley ball and Carrom tournaments.

This time I could use my camera to the full extent. I seldom get opportunities to click photos. Everyone was happy to see them particularly the video of the post-match celebrations.

No wonder I am not following anything in the class: thanks to the events in the field. Sometimes I think and think again, which is more important? Is it the research or the games and sports? The research ought to get a higher priority and that is why I am here for. I have decided not to spend too much time on all these and get back to my original schedule of studies and research. And of course quickly.

Moving Woes !

Shifting to a new place is always a headache. But the change is often refreshing. You get new neighbors, new view from the window and more importantly you can make more friends. I have moved to a new place today. I have shifted from a double seated sharing room to a single seated room. Not very far though. Just a floor above the old one. That way I didn't have to sweat out a lot while moving things.

Advantages of having a single seated accomodation:
  • You have your own personal space. You can listen to your favorite song, watch your favorite video and nobody to complain.
  • You can keep the lights on till late in the night and wake up whenever you want.
  • You won't have to worry about the other person locking your room while you are bathing.
  • You can eat your favorite food without having to shell out half of it to your roomie :-)
  • You won't have to worry about refilling the drinking water bottle even though you hadn't taken even a single sip from it.
  • You can come to the room any time in the night without disturbing others.
  • The cupboard is completely yours!
Having stayed away from home for almost six years now, I have got accustomed to new roommates, their daily habits, the sharing thing and what not. But I don't know, off late I am getting sick of these room mates. I am grown up now. I can very well take care of myself.
