They say that all good things come to an end, and so did my stay at IIT. It was a friday afternoon when even the clouds starting crying while I was busy packing my stuff.
Anyways I have left Mumbai and have reached home, via Vaishno Devi shrine. It was my second visit to the holy shrine. Last time I went - we walked all the way up, waited for 2 hours in the queue before we could have the darshan. This time it was quite simple. I hopped on to a helicopter which took me to the top in just 4 mins. With the special priority entry scheme, managed to have darshan in flat 10 mins :)
While boarding the chopper, I was asked if I wanted to sit on the co-pilot's seat. Who would refuse that offer. Now you can imagine the view that I got from that seat. No words to describe it. It was a once in a life-time experience and of course complete paisa wasool. Unfortunately couldn't take any photos. It seems no camera or leather goods are allowed inside the shrine and that is why I thought of not taking thing. I regret that decision now!
At home now and having loads of free time. More than what I did at IIT :D Will write more often now. (sounds cliched.. err)

Though I have not been there, I think first time should always be walking your way up and enjoying the small details of such a journey.
Chopper ride must have been fun.
How much does it costs ?
Are there private operators ?
Do we have to book it in advance ? What's the frequency ?
How's the helipad on top ?
Ha Ha.. looking at my questionnaire, I think you'll stop blogging about these things. :P
@Cuckoo
Yes it was full of fun.
1. The cost is Rs. 1250/-
2. There are two private operators as of now - Pavan Hans and Air Deccan
3. They allow advance bookings and the link is given on the official website of Vaishno Devi Shrine. On the spot bookings are also available.
4. Frequency is too good. The travel time is 4 mins and so every 8 mins you have the helicopter which can carry at max. 4 persons.
5. The helipad on top is small but should be good enough. It is called as Sanji Chhat.
Hey on the co-pilots seat - how nice! I once had a chance to sit in the cockpit on a commercial flight at the time of landing. Thanks for all the info on the chopper ride to Cuckoo's questions.:)
Celine:
Yeah it was a nice feeling sitting on the co-pilot's seat. And thanks!
